Quick questions about stock dodge dakota wheels?
Im sure this has been asked a million times but I am having no luck finding it. I have an 06 4wd Dakota. I am looking for the offset and backspacing for the stock rims that come on it. They are 16" rims. Here is a picture of the rims on the truck. I am running 265/70 16's now on it and was told when I get my 2'' leveling kit on, I can run 285/70 16's without them rubbing or trimming anything? I want to get new rims also for it to and get some with a little bit of backspacing so they stick out a bit.

Your stock wheels are 16" x 8", offset of 25.4mm (1"), backspace of 140mm (5.5").
You aren't going to run 285's without some major trimming. 265/75/16 may require some minor trimming, and definitely an easier tire to fit on your truck. Not sure who told you the 285's will fit.
The 285/70/16 will require more trimming than the 265/75/16 due to the extra width, as well as the slight height increase. Plus there is much more of a selection of tires in 265/75/16.
Read the thread posted above, as well as this one. Plus try to keep all of your tire questions in one thread.

My truck has 265/70 16's on it now and there is plenty of clearance now with those. And that is without the leveling kit on it yet.
As for a selection of tires, The tires I plan on using come in 285/70 16's.

Unless you are feeling huge, stick with 265/75/16s and a 2" leveling kit. This will require minor trimming on your factory alloys.
