We have code in our 2005 dodge dakota that indicates vacuum leak. Can someone tell us where the charcoal canister is located on our truck? Thanks. Love this site.

What is the code? Could be just a loose/bad gas cap.
I believe it's on top of the fuel tank on these trucks. Don't quote me on that, but get under and check with a flashlight. I would but mine stays outside and it's raining.
Its above the gas tank just in front of the rear tire. What are your codes? I just went through a vacuum leak issue and it was a pain to no end.... ended up being my nvld pump. I searched all the hoses, checked the connections of all the sensors, changed the gas cap and narrowed it down to either the canister, the nvld, or the pcv valve. I broke down and went to the dealer for a diagnostic, only because I couldnt figure it out plus I didnt have much time at that point. $240 dollars later and the nvld pump was replaced. Slightly high of a price, but I was in a pinch for time, and luckily I did it because the same day it was at the dealer, my son was born less than 24 hrs later
