Default Max height leveling kit?

Im gonna be ordering my leveling kit Monday. I have talked to a few people on here about how much height to get for it. Its an 06 4wd Dakota I have. I have been told that 3" is the max you want but also told that 2" is the max you want? I was planning on getting a 2 1/2" kit but since I was told that 2 is the max you want, its got me wondering now. Thanks guys.

Anything over 2" will have you replacing front end parts on a regular basis.

Over 2" will cause premature failure of ball joints, cv joints and tie rods. Not recommended.

I run the 2.5 on my 08, i haven't had any problems yet.... Knock on wood.

Also I know that Jack my ride has come out with a diff drop kit for those that want to go bigger then 2in in the front . That could be a thought for you.

I've heard that 2.5" can cause front end issues in the long run.

I did drop the front axle 3" and the rack 5/8" with offset bushings.
