Moog is fine, but not that much of a difference between most of the more reputable manufacturers. There's only a handful of actual places these things get made, but they get packaged and branded in a gazillion different wrappers.

Likely, some of the Moog stuff comes from other foundries and factories. You're smart though to replace it all at one shot. The V8 front ends seem to wallow more than the V6s do. So putting the stiffest shocks up there may help. I've used monroe and rancho, and didn't notice a huge difference.

Just bought an 08 V8 Laramie, and about to start the same operation on mine. My 05 consumed a gargantuan amount of front end parts. I hated it so much, I bought a new truck

^^^ Thanks, you're one of the few people who aren't all about moog parts. Anyone else here have experience with non-moog replacement suspension parts?

I read that moog isnt as good anymore like they used to be. I purchased Moog outter tie rods and that was it. The rest of my suspension is Raybestos.

That's interesting to know. I looked over some of my parts, and it looks like a few of them are not actually Moog. However, i'm sure a new part is better than whatever originally came on it from Dodge.

I dont know how long my originals lasted. My truck has 145k on it, so the suspension might of been replaced before. But either way, this should last me well past college. Im starting college in the spring so i was fixing up all the parts so it doesnt break down on me on the way there and back everyday. Even tho I already have another vehicle.

Most companies that manufacture (actually MAKE stuff) like this share parts and operate on an interchange system. There are some who make for the original car itself (OEM parts suppliers) and there are some who make only for aftermarket. Moog does both, as do several others.

Moog is fine, they are an established OEM supplier. What's funny is that Raybestos isn't actually a company, but rather a brand used for distribution from a larger aftermarket replacement parts company that used to be part of Dana (yep, that Dana) corp. Most of these hard goods (ball joints, tie rod ends, etc) are made by a limited number of companies.

People whine over these types of parts being "made in china" but amusingly, that's not necessarily a barometer for it being bad, or good for that matter.

I have on other vehicles, I just stuck with Moog for the Dak. I have heard other members express dissatisfaction with Mevotech. I avoid them as well. IIRC, there were only a few aftermarket parts that included grease fittings. Moog was one and based on others experiences with Moog, I went with them.

By all means go with whatever brand you want. Just know that Moog has a solid reputation among members here.

I purchased the raybestos arms, and they don't have grease fittings. Neither did the moog arms that were 50$ more each. I needed new arms because one of mine was bent and all of the bushings were bad in the lower arms and is way easier and almost the same price to get a whole new arm than rebuild my old ones. I consider moog and raybestos equally good and better than mevotech.

Update: I finally got my truck back on Tuesday and I must say, after replacing all the shocks, and updating all those weak front end parts to Moog, I never thought i'd be this happy with the truck. It feels literally like a brand new truck. I also installed front and rear moog sway bar bushings to top it off. I highly suggest this to anyone with a squeaky front end. My ball joints were completely shot, there was a lot of play with the tie rods, and a sway bar endlink snapped during installation of the new parts.

Glad you enjoy it. WHat brand parts did you use? mine still hasn't been done, I'm waited longer cuz I Had to order new front wheelbearings. So, I'm replacing everything except the rack, and the struts. I'll do the struta eventually, but can'tspend anymore into it. I have college in acouple months. I'll probably use the loan/grants to fix it up a little more.
