Default Intermittent starting issue

05 Dakota Quad cab.

I am having an intermittent starting issue. At times when start truck, it will stall right away. Try again and same thing. If I pull the key out and reinsert, it starts right up. No rhyme or reason. May happen once a month or maybe 2x in same day.

haven't been able to use my fob for over 3-4 years. The clip is broken and needs resoldered. Very poor design

if you have a second key start to use it, the key is losing its programing and on its way out, we were stuck out in no mans land one day when it happen to me, luckly Sharon had my other key in her pocket book that she uses, inserted key and truck started with no issues, next day try other key that failed, and truck would start for a few seconds and cut off.
