got cv finally off, stub shaft has minor play, is that normal?

From my experience with a bunch of other vehicles.
When everything is installed, a bit of in and out play with the cv shaft is completely normal. You need to know how much is too much. KIM a brand new one should be right solid.
As long as you don't hear a TICK when you start off and accelerate, it should be fine. Also pay attention to your tires. If they are just all seasons, listen for a whoo whoo whoo whoo when you are at a constant speed. That is most likely a bad cv shaft.... or two....sigh.
