Default Throw Out Bearing--Quick Suggestions???

My throw out bearing went out about 2 hours ago. I made it home safely and obnoxiously. Wondering if anyone could recommend a good clutch kit I can buy. I’m going to drop the tranny so might as well replace it all. I have the 4.7L.

Unless you have made performance mods, major ones, most kits for the street are so similar I buy based on price when I was a tech.

I see a 11" and a 12" listed but since you have the V8 should be the 12" one.

Rockauto has the 12" starting at $155. Amazon and eBay may have others as well.

I see some at eBay around $130 shipped. Just make sure if you go that route that its the right size.

$135 shipped

Let us know how it goes (us guys with v8 manuals). I'll b curious to see how much wear it has relative to mileage, tire size, gear ratio, and # of burnouts!

Gonna go a little against the grain on this.

I wouldn't buy one off the internet. I'd get one from the local auto parts store. The reason is that if something IS wrong, wrong size, wrong parts in the box, etc, you can go back to the local guy and get an exchange. Otherwise, you may find yourself with a transmission sitting in your garage for the time it takes to get the right parts from your internet source.

Keep it simple. . .

The man has a point..... hmm...

:edit: just checked. My local advance is almost more than Double what the clutch would be online. I'd say if your really worried about it order both sized and return the one you don't need. or just plan accordingly and do the research.

My local store would have to order the parts anyway.
