I'm not going for LT so I'm just going to go with a drop when I can afford new arms. Not even converting to coil overs. TBH I kind of want a 4x2 for my next 1/2 ton. Most 4x4 are just open diffs with a locking t-case so a 4x2 with a locking rear wouldn't be a huge loss.
As long as it fits big tires, right? Why are you even dropping the diff? The cvs will last a while, especially if it's mall crawler. Save your money for the 20s. (That rhymes).

It would to me. Why are you dropping the diff? The cvs will last a while on a mall crawler.

Mall crawler or not I still abuse it off road all the time. Enough to where 250 for a diff drop would be easier than replacing CV axles multiple times. I just don't want to throw money at a LT set up I can't really afford when I need more rubber would be more beneficial than more travel.
I want a 4x2 next so I can do LT easier with better results not because I never use 4wd (believe me I do). Just talking hopes but I want to have Jeep for a 4x4 along with a LT pickup.

My personal opinion. Unless your racing in a 4wd class....LT on 4x trucks just doesn't make sense. For all the money you sink into it your still always limited by your front axles. Trophy trucks cycle 3 feet of suspension in the front and theyre tire size and speed gets them everywhere a 4x4 does during the race...
guess it all depends on what you want to use it for
