My 2007 Dakota QuadCab 6-cyl. starts up and shifter won't leave PARK. Turned off ignition. Turned on ignition again just far enough to go past ACC but not into START. I shifted out of PARK into Neutral. Truck starts and drives normally except no radio, no turn signals. If it is shifted back into PARK while stopped but still running it is stuck there. I turned around and left it at home. Ideas?

 

Hmm, sounds like a neutral saftey switch. But, Im not sure why that would disable the radio.

 

I think it was some kind of interlock. I got home and tried to start it up and had the same problem. I stepped extra hard on the brake and it came out of PARK and worked normally after that. The only concern now is that the Check Engine light is on now. I'll have someone check out the code to see what's up with that. Thanks for your input DP!
