Reverse not engaging immediately.
Within the last week, I have noticed when I put the my 06 Dakota in reverse, it seems like it doesn't engage quickly. I thought maybe it was low on tranny fluid, because I had a line replaced last month. Fluid was fine.
It has only done this a couple times. Feels normal any other time I put it in reverse.
Any thoughts on what could be the problem? Truck is 06 Dakota 3.7 with automatic transmission and 49,000 miles.

Any codes and what is you transmission designation?
I have a similar problem with my 545RFE but it also does the same going into 1st. It's caused my a failing pressure regulator.

Not throwing any codes. Not sure what you mean by designation.
Also the vibration when braking has returned. I put new pads, rotors on front. New shoes on back, and finally found it was rear drums. Now a month later, it's back. You feel it under you, just like before.
Took it to my tire guy and had all 4 wheels balanced just to rule that out. He says drums or rotors have a hot spot. He said to have them turned. Don't know what I should do now.
Any suggestions will help.

Designation is the name of the transmission/transfer case. In a 3G Dakota you will either have a 42RLE or a 545RFE. It's on your build sheet.
And just because your brake rotars/drums are new doesn't mean they aren't warped. I'm on number 3 from Advance. Luckily most places carry a two year warranty on them so you can just get them replaced no need to pay to have them turned. Test with a dial indicator. I can't remember how much runout is tolerable but it's not much.

Took the drums back to Autozone today and got two new ones. Man tried to tell me they looked ok. I told him he must have good eyes to see if they were out any. He thinks it may be the rear brake shoes, not the drums. I told him I bought those there also. Didn't seem too happy with me. I was going to change the brakes to, but they were out of stock. I'll see what happens with the drums being changed.
As for the designation, I will check into it and let you know. I learned something new today, Thanks.

My '05 does the same thing every now and then but only is reverse. Its been happening for at least three years. It might go a month or more, do it two or three times than act civilized for another couple of months. BTW, no codes.
Brake rotors? Check out Prime Choice Auto Parts. They have a package deal, two cross drilled slotted rotors and ceramic pads..$86-$96 and change. http://www.primechoiceautoparts.com/...-pads-set.aspx
They cleared up the shimmy and shake on my buddiy's '07 Dak.

on the chrysler torqueflites rev uses more pressure than FW gears. and if the trany filter is clogged rev will come on slow. cold condition's make it worse. here is a tip if it bangs in to rev. pull the leaver all the way to low gear, then to rev. when the leaver is pulled to low it pressures the low / rev piston at a low pressure, then when in rev the pressure goes higher.

Same here. Most recently in the cold once then after truck sat for over a week.
Update to the brake problem. After putting the second set of brake drums on, the vibration was still there. I decided to change the rear brakes again, since that is where this whole thing began.
I think the problem is solved. When I took the brakes off I noticed the shoes had what looked like ridges going across them.
Two days now and all is well. One problem. When I was putting the shoes on I accidently pushed the top of one shoe too far against the piston. This caused the one piston, rubber boot and spring to come out of the wheel cylinder. I put everything back together, bled the brakes and checked for leaks. Everything looks ok.
Should this be ok or should I change the wheel cylinder?

I live in Florida so we don't really get many "cold" days. I was having issues with putting the truck in reverse and it taking several seconds for things to "catch" before the truck would move.
It happened mainly when the truck had been sitting over night. I had read of some others on the forum having the same issue so I took it in to the dealership. There was a service bulletin for using a different filter in the transmission and after that the issue went away.
