Intermittent Trans Temp Light
So my 2006 Dakota has about 42k miles on it, and a few weeks ago I would get the Trans Temp warning light lasting a minute or so every time I went for a drive. I noticed no change in shifting at all.
The dealership pulled codes P0218 and P0714, so they replaced the Sensor/Solenoid in the transmission. The day afterwards, I started getting the light again. Same pattern, just goes on for a few seconds and goes away. Now the dealership is seeing just the P0218 - High Temperature Operation Activated DTC. With no other explanation, they believe I need to replace the Torque Convertor. Having already dropped $1k on the solenoid, I am hesitant on dropping another couple grand for a guess at fixing this.
Anyone seen anything like this before? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
