Default Shuddering at higher speeds

So to start I have an 07 3.7l and the problem I've been having is that anytime above about 55 mph if I attempt to speed up the truck starts to shudder I guess would be the best way to describe it but I also noticed that if I turn overdrive off the problem instantly goes away. After taking a 1200 mile trip recently it was quite the problem with gas mileage I was wondering if anybody has any input as to what it might be. Thanks for the help

Well last time I checked it before I took the trip unfortunately I did see some shavings so I got it flushed prior the only problem is I took it to a transmission shop and the guy said it could have been a misfire.
