Added on Wiring
I was working on my radio..it's a 2 din aftermarket radio from some company called china vision. It was installed before I bought the truck....I think this wiring has a lot to do with electrical problems I have been having with my 2010 Dodge Dakota.
In photo I have question on the crazy wiring the installer of this radio did.
1. What is Harness 1 called?
What is Harness 2 called?
2. Was harness 1 & 2 suppose to be one solid harness from factory?
3. Should I replace harnesses?
Thanks for your input.

Whoa buddy! Barely two hours later and you want an answer?
Your pool of knowledge will be relatively low - not many have messed with their stereos and fewer still will have used your type. Give it some time for people with jobs and families to have a few minutes to sit down and read your original post.
Better question. What problems are you having that are making you think it's the radio?
Whoever wired that didn't do the truck any favors, BUT! I've seen worse.
Let's see... Had to D/L the pic and zoom in a bit, however, I take it Harness 1 plugs in to the back of the radio, and got tied in to harness 2 right? Hmmm.. what's the lil black box? I can't make out what you labeled it. If it's on of them silly work arounds that's supposed to make up for the lack of an accessory wire in the truck's radio harness, Yea... You can loose that stuff. Just run the accessory wire from the radio and splice it to the Positive wire for the switched power outlet right there on the dash (That is if your power outlet turns on/off with the key). This is what I did on my 2006 as the silly little box caused annoyances with how the radio turned on and off.
Harnesses can get expensive. What you have there is a bit of a mess that a little time a handfull of butt connectors and a few zip-ties you should be able to get sorted in to something a bit more professional looking without a problem.
