Default 2007 Dakota Remote Start ADD ONs...whats available

I wanted to get my wife a remote start system but lovely Chrysler (and everyone else) decided to make the key part of the remote lock fob. How in the hell do I find a system that can use my existing fob? Or what have other done. My problem is having 2 bulky fobs on her key ring which I couldn't stand myself. Since the key is built it, what are my options? Does Chrysler have a system for a truck this age? Thank you.

There are a few out there (i dont' know the exact part numbers) that allow you to use your current remote lock fob to use as start. you press the lock three times in quick succession or something like that. I'll check with my brother, He's done it to his caravan. Since everything is Canbus in both your truck and his van, the system might work out of the box. I'll get more info

Thank you very much! Sounds easy enough to install myself. Just dropped by the remote starter and audio place $279 installed! Ouch, he probably was going to use this exact system and be done in 10 minutes!

It's super quick to install using the system above. That's the same one (from a different distributer) that my brother used.

I installed the Fortin in my work van (10' Caravan CV) its a very simple install, If I had factory FOBs id get one for the truck, Might still get it with a RF Remote kit. I had to buy the Flash Link to change the programing to what I wanted it for the van.
All you have todo is Unplug the Ignition at the Key, Plug in a T Connector, Plug back into ignition, plug into Evo-All then program using the directions.

Just make sure if you purchase the kit that it comes with updated firmware. I just purchsed one from ebay and had to drop another 50 to get the updater so it will work in my girlfriends 2009 ram
