Default Transmission problems

I have a 2006 Dakota, is it common for the transmission to have problems?
My truck won't shift from first to second while in drive, and I'm getting a P0733 code when i scan it. Just curious to see if this is a common issue or not.

Welcome to the forum. No is not a common problem that I am aware of. How many miles? What engine? 2 or 4 wheel drive? Club or crew cab? Info like this helps us help you.

This is a good read.

Yep, more info is definitely helpful.

P0733 could be something as simple as low tranny fluid, or as bad as the trans or TC going out, or the TCM.
