At what temp does the transmission temp light come on?

&

At what temp does the engine temp light come on?

Although posted in the 3rd gen Dakota section, and this is a general question, we can only assume you are referring to a Dakota; however, it would be helpful if you would put some vehicle specifics in your signature so we know exactly what vehicle you are referring to. 4X4? 2WD? V6? V8? Year? Mileage? Are you experiencing issues or just want to know?

Derp....

I have a 2005 quad cab 4x4 v8 slt

No problems. Just installed water temp and trans temp gauges and want to know what temps to look out for...?

The factory t-stat is 195*. No clue on the trans temp.

Yeah I knew that...

Sorry I guess what I'm asking is at what temp does the "dummy" light come on for both these? What is the over temp temperature?

Transmission DTC: Sets off at 240F (150C) degrees
