If you can show it is as good or better, you should be OK. Properly designed and approved aftermarket stuff is OK too. I have heard of people around hear that were driving on tires that were not up to the level of OEM and, going to fast around an off-ramp, crashed. It was the tires, not the speed, that was cited as the reason for charges and no insurance.
