Hi everyone,

So I was driving to work today, stopped to put like $15 in my tank because it was reading empty. Put the gas in and it showed about a quarter tank. A few miles later right before I got to work I looked down and the gauge was back showing Empty. I brought up DTE and it was decreasing rapidly I watched it go from 25 Miles to 3 within a quarter mile. Then a minute later the check engine light came on. This happened to me a few weeks ago but then it ended up fixing itself. The truck seems to still run fine. I'm thinking Sending Unit for the fuel?

Does anyone have any advice or has anyone ever replaced this on their own?

What is the code from the CEL?

 

I haven't been able to get it to a reader yet. I also forgot to mess with the gas cap so I'm going to go try that as soon as I'm out of work. Just praying I'm able to drive home and don't break down on the way. Lol

 

The code will tell you whats wrong, or at least give you a clue.
