Led light bar wiring question.
If you are wanting the lights to come on when you turn the cargo light on, then yes you "could" use the cargo lamp switch to activate the relay. I doubt the additional amp draw to activate the relay would pop the fuse, or overload the cir. However, my recommendation would be to put the light bar on it's own dedicated circuit. This removes the chance of overloading the circuit for the cargo lamp.
What is strange (to me at least) is that my 3rd brake light does not have the clear parts that I normally see on trucks with cargo lights. When I bought the truck it had a camper shell on it which I sold and I am assuming the owner took the bulbs out for the third brake light because it does not work. I am not sure if I don't have a cargo light at all because of the solid red lens or if that is just the way it is. Anybody else not have the clear parts on the lens or is it just me?
So I guess the reason I was looking at using the cargo lamp switch is because I was assuming it was not actually doing anything and that I did not have that option on my truck. Making that switch available for me to use with the led light bar instead. I would not want them both on at the same time though.

Yeah it has the switch. I am assuming they put the switch on the panel regardless of if it is equipped or not. I think I am just going to find a place to mount the rocker and leave the harness as is. Thanks.
Thanks for the info Reject. I like the roof mount light bar ODXBeef. What type of bracket is that that you used to mount it with? I may just swap out the cheap switch with one of the rockers I bought and just find somewhere to mount it. The included switch just feels very cheap to me and I don't see it lasting long. Thanks for all the feedback.
Combination of a CARR rooftop mount and a few trips to ace hardware.
I like it I may have to add it to the list. Just put red powerstop calipers on today and did Rancho 5000's all the way around along with moog sway bar bushings and endlinks front and rear a few weekends ago. Is that just spray paint on the grille or is is bedliner? I thought about doing bedliner on mine but I am not sure how good it will look since I have the chrome inserts on the bumper. I guess I could do bedliner on the insert as well. I have similar black headlights though. Your truck looks pretty good man.
Figure out a solution yet? I spliced mine into my foglight circuit without a problem, and it's honestly the easiest solution unless you want to snake a couple wires through the firewall and slap a switch somewhere.
I was going to get it done this past weekend but decided not to after doing the calipers. I did find an easy place to get the wire through near my power wire for my aftermarket amp. I think I am going to just use the one that came with it, it has double sided tape, and then mount one of the new rockers later and wire it up. I would do the foglight thing but I always run mine with the headlights. Thanks.
