Default Replacing motor in a 2005 Dakota 4.7l

Inherited a project started by someone else. My son-in-law was given a 4wd 2005 Dakota truck with no motor. Motor mounts were out, front axle disconnected from the motor mounts, missing all the hardware. Have been back and forth to junkyards etc. retrieving hardware, etc. but not sure what is best way to install motor. Should I put isolators in place and attach axle to underside of Motor mounts first or after motor is in? Looks like back side of differential attaches to bell housing and transmission. Just looking for easiest way to re-install. Not sure why axles were disconnected in first place except I think they may have been trying to get pan off. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
