2005 dodge dakota, AWD 4x4 QC. which line is the return and which is the supply. i have already replaced the one that connects to the passenger side of the rad, but i now need to replace the one on the drivers side. any one know which one is what or which one goes to the top or bottom when it connects to the tranny.

I'm looking at the same problem. Even a trans shop couldn't tell me. Can believe there aren't any pictures anywhere. I just ordered both, figured I'd do both while I'm under there. Mechanic wanted $240 for both, $180 for one and trans shop wanted $256 for one. Cost me $151 for both lines and $18 for quick disconnect tool from Harbor Freight.
i just crawled under there and the bottom one is leaking going into the tranny , so i got a replacement. i was just lazy that day because of it being so slushy out i didnt want to trace it back to the tranny.
If you haven't figured it out yet. Get the truck up to temp and drive it for a few miles. Come back and touch the metal part of the hose where it comes out of the transmission. One line should be fairly warm and the other one cooler. The warmer one is the supply of course because it hasn't ran through the cooler yet. At least that's how i figured it out after a few endless hours of searching manuals and online with no answers.
