I have an 05 Dodge Dakota 3.7L with major misfire problem........code first read ignition sensor replaced to shop, the say the sensor and another sensor were not on the same page for better words. but after a half mile down the road, the light came back on and started all over again. its misfiring to bad that when I take off (after warmed up to temp, and sometime turned off and back on gas station for example) it will jerk so hard and sometime just die.......it fires straight up but I have to ease on into speed. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated I don't know what to do......I don't want another mechanic charging me an arm and a leg to do something maybe so simple I can do it.

sounds like the camshaft position sensor or crank position sensor. cam position sensor is more likely as a lot of guys have had them go bad without throwing a code. cheap part, simple install (1 bolt).

Yeah. Those (or I should say most) sensors aren't very reliable. I had to change that cam sensor and it only lasted 2 months, the next one lasted 2 yrs, and the current one has been in about 5 yrs. I've had a throttle position sensor crap out on me after only 3 months, too. Not trying to chase you around to spend more money or anything but, maybe you should go back to mechanic and have him check it.
Oh yeah! Welcome to the forum.
