I replaced the lower bank on my 08 Dakota and inorder to do that I had to go out and buy the special Dodge very long deep thin wall spark plug socket. Think it was $20 on amazon. I also used a snap-on thin wall deep socket on a extension. Once you have that you should have no problem, nothing needs to come out to access them. The only trick I can tell you is once you get them lossened up take a small magnet to pull them out from the engine. Good luck.
