Default Heater control stuck on high

Hello, My heater **** is stuck in the high position. When you want a little fan forced air movement on a warm day from the dash vents, it is all the way to the warm(RED) setting, also the A/C has been rendered useless. In addition, prior to this problem, when the thermostat **** was moved there was a loud clicking noise reminiscent of a machine gun.
96,000 miles on the clock for my truck at 12 years old. The only thing that I like on this vehicle so far is the 4.7 engine, whick provides a nice amount of giddy-up,especially since I had the local muffler shop put a new magnaflow with a 3" pipe
on it. Lots of little maddening problems with this vehicle that are not acceptable for the mileage. ANYBODY at Dodge listening to this? 2005 Dakota club cab ST w/factory tow package. 4.7L
As a 2ND problem that also recently popped-up, now there is a feeling of driving on a washboard road above 40MPH. 5 spd
auto trans.
Any help on these matters would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks Much,
Rex in Monrovia,Ca.

1st problem sounds to me like your Blend Door has a stripped cog where the Actuator Motor mounts. Plastic don't like being moved COLD.
2nd problem (Without more details) is possible a tire out of balance or a belt broke in a tire.
