My 05 Dakota is throwing P0700 which says Transmission control System malfunction
P0891 TCM power relay sense circuit high
the PCM has been replaced, it has a new battery - how difficult is it to replace the TCM? (it hard shifts while driving, it sometimes acts as if starting in high gear, sometimes have to manually shift to get to drive speed, sometimes works fine...the tranny has lost its mind

Does any of this sound familiar to you? If so how have you resolved it?

I figured out the problem. I serviced the transmission fluid and filters the same time I replaced the valve body so I decided to drop the pan and check it out. Didn’t seee and metal in the pan or anything. But when I removed the filters the round filter had about a tablespoon of fluid in it.... well I checked the filter and their was a threat peice I assumed was pre installed in the filter but it wasn’t. So I bought a new one just to be safe and tightened it to 130inch pounds then installed it to the transmission at 135 inch pounds and replaced the fluids and now o have no problem what so ever. Hope this helps. So check your filters and make sure they’re in good shape !! And if not make sure you reinstall them correctly. Unlike I did the first time.

Thanks, I will double check the filters, did the pan and filters and gasket back in Nov. but it didn't change anything. But it is worth a shot to double check.
