Just picked up my first pickup truck. 2009 Dakota extended cab with 80K really good shape. Love it so far. Having trouble locating a few answers. I searched the forum with no luck.Can anyone help? The first thing I did was add a backup camera through a boss flip up screen radio, due to there being so much hanging out the back, I didn't want to wack anything. It works really good.

1. Drivers bottom seat cushion really bad. Where can I purchase a new foam for a reasonable price? Or used if in good shape?

2. Can the passenger bottom seat foam work on the drivers side with a little trimming?

3. I need to replace the molded rubber seal (weather strip) that seals between the drivers back half door and the drivers door, is this available anywhere? or what can I do?

4. Anything I should look out for with this year and mileage?

 

I can answer the first two. A good place to check would be your local pick and pull, an entire seat assembly should be less than $50. If you don't want to spend that much, just cut the cushion out. A foam cushion from a 2005 - 2011 will fit; for entire seats and frame, with slight modifications, almost any durango or dakota seats will fit. might need an angle grinder for a 2004 - 2009 durango. As for number 2, the seat cushion from the passenger side will fit the driver side without modification. there will be some plastic clips on the underside of the seat and velcro on the top of the cushion. If pulling from a vehicle always check out the passenger seat, it will almost always be in better condition than the driver seat.

80K miles is nothing, I would simply change the fluids (trans, diffs, transfer case, oil, coolant) if you don't know when it was changed last. Other than that, tend to things as they come up.
