Default Repair of Chrome Blisters

You know those blisters or bubbles that form in the chrome on the front grilles? Have any of you had any success repairing your chrome with the various rolls of chrome tape you find online? Like this: https://www.ebay.com/i/263483092512?...r=562511589783

I would sand it down, prime and paint the grill surround body color. since your's is a blue dakota, the cross i would do a gloss black, and the horizontal vents in a flat black. and while you are at it, do the headlight surround also body color, or the gloss black to start a theme.

The tape will never look quite right.
