I was wondering if a 2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7 auto trans 4x4 is the same one used in the 2006 Dodge Dakota 4.7 auto trans 4x4 and is interchangeable as such. Need to do a tranny swap and found a good deal on 2005 transmission. Don’t want to buy it until I know it is all around interchangeable.

Both used the 5-45RFE Transmission, so that will work fine. Make sure you use OEM Mopar filters in the replacement trans, aftermarket filters can cause weird issues.
