Exclamation Issue after changing Water Pump and Thermostat

This one was so strange that I couldn't find it in any searches.

After changing the water pump, thermostat, upper and lower hoses and the idler and tensioner pulleys, I'm getting this issue.

When I start the truck everything seems fine. When I put it in Drive and accelerate the engine revs high but I get very little power (1800 RPMs and I'm going 5 mph. After about 30 seconds, the engine kicks in and everything is fine.

I ran a bunch of errands today, and it happened every time I restarted the truck.

Thanks for any help.

I can't think of any reason for these to be related other than one of the trans cooler lines near the radiator got pinched in the process or you are coincidentally low of trans fluid.

do me a favor, next time you take off, manually go thru the gears and see if it is any different, if manually going thru the gears helps, time for a tranny rebuild.or your bands are completely shot.
