Default Electronic Throttle Control warning light

Driving home from work tonight the Electronic Throttle Control warning light lit up on my dash and the truck seemed like it was bogging down. Stayed on for less than 10 seconds then went off and truck drove fine again. Wondering if the collective power of the forum is away of a common issue and/or simple fix, or if I'm looking at throwing down the cash for a new throttle body assembly? Thanks in advance!

i had cleaned the throttle body in mine when i was doing the last set of plugs/coils when i was having some misfire issues. i had some seafoam left from doing the treatment to help clear the cats and the valves and had noticed that the throttle body seemed a little dirty. So i removed it from the intake, carefully cleaned it. Afterwards, it moved more freely.

Could be a simple fix like that for you as well.

Good luck.

Just took the scanner to the truck. No codes in the normal mode, but in the enhanced Chrysler/Jeep mode P2299 - incompatible brake pedal/accelerator pedal position came up. : Hate to just throw parts at vehicles. I would also hate to be out of town in crowded Los Angeles traffic when this happens. I'm thinking it would be either the accelerator pedal sensor or the electronic throttle body. I suppose it could have just been a fluke or I accidentally hit the brake pedal while I was driving?
