I have a 2005 Dakota St 3.7L 4x2 and I need a new transmission. I've checked around and all the transmissions I've found that are for my year make and model are a little expensive. But I have noticed that there are cheaper transmissions for different years and wanted to know which transmissions from other years or models, if any, I'd be able to replace mine with.

 

I'm not positive, but I think any 42RLE trans from an 05-11 Dakota would work. The 42RLE trans came equipped on all V6 Dakotas during those years.
