Default Stalling

2006 Dodge Dakota SLT 4.7L V8 5 Speed 4x4

I just installed a new transmission into my truck.
What happens is when i am coming to a stop in drive or reverse the truck stalls and will occasionally die. I have done several tests and replaced several parts and i cannot figure out what the peoblem is.
I know it isn't the transmission or torque converter, i had a friend look at it, my friend worked at a dodge dealership for years and he was the transmission tech. I have replaced the PCV Valve, the Idle air Controller, and the Spark Plugs.
Do you guys have any ideas?
The next thing im going to check is the fuel filter

I had this happen after I did a coolant service and had the battery disconnected for 3 days. Kept dying when coming to a stop. I checked and rechecked my work thinking I had done something wrong. After a couple weeks it cleared up.

Did you ever figure out what was causing the problem?

It was 4 years ago. I'd be guessing on the cause. Mine was not an all the time thing, but at least once a day it'd stall when coming to a stop.

Is it stalling due to just failure to maintain idle, or does it feel like it's coming to a stop in a manual transmission without releasing the clutch? Mine would do the latter, and after a couple of false starts a mechanic figured out that the torque converter lockup clutch disc was disintegrating and plugging the ports, not allowing it to release.
