Default Are all 4.7 engines swap and drop

I know everyone want a hemi for power over a 4.7 and martinbuilt has done lots of work to his 4.7 Jeep with real ram air. Martin success has been swaping in 4.7 no parts. Can you tank out a 4.7 non go around 260 up and replace it with a 2008 ho that's factory rated over 300 up. Like buying a rebuilt jasper. Will the computer and wires match. If your looking at this your gaining 50 extra ponies drop headers and a few goodies and that might be less headache than a used hemi. The hemi you must address valve dropping and other stuff then deal with a different wire harness. Am interested foolish in thing a ho 4.7 would give you more power and your tranny and brake's and sub par frame will thank you. I'm looking at doing this with a manual trans truck.

4.7 V8s drop valves more than Hemis do, I would take a Hemi over a 4.7 any day. The have more power, less problems and get about the same fuel mileage.

the wires will not match between the pre 8 an the 08+ engines. the pre 08 had 1 plug per cylinder, the 08 plus have two. And I believe the pre 08 had cable throttle body while the 08 + are electronic, but I could be wrong about the TB.

So, you'll need a new computer and wiring harness to also put an 08+ engine into a pre 08 vehicle. An alternative that I've seen on the forum is to swap the cylinder heads from the HO and put it on a non HO engine. it doesn't do the entire gain as the whole engine but does do noticeable gains if i remember correctly.

Thank you i was on the other side forum and there admin said don't do it. He claimed you need to rewire the whole truck including dash electronics. And the right side motor mount does not use all 4 bolts. The frame of the truck and breaks can't handle the extra 100+ up the hemi gives the Dakota. Which is confusing because Durango had hemi in them and the Dakota is a truck but related to the Durango. Ihave a chance to pick up an 06 V8 manual 4x4 very clean for around 3 grand . It would be my home Depot runner i still have my trail hawk Jeep.

An extra 100 HP won't make any difference on how the brakes work and I don't see why the frame wouldn't hold up either.
