Default Compatability questions (and a silly issue)

Greetings all! I've been loving my Dakota but have been thinking about getting it new shoes. I have the original 16 inch alloy wheels right now, but was interested in getting something a little bigger. After looking at aftermarket options, nothing really appealed to me. However, something I did like the look of was the 18's found on the Chrysler Aspen Limited. Since it is my understanding that the Aspen is essentially a face lifted Durango, I assume these wheels would fit on my truck as well? Here's a link to an example set: https://www.ebay.com/itm/312983140834.

Also I was interested in upgrading to leather seats, at least in the front. My cloth ones are stained a bit and torn. However leather replacement seats specifically for the Dakota don't seem to exist anymore. I can find similar seats from a same gen Durango for a good price however, so I was wondering if the front leather seats from a 3rd gen Durango would fit my truck as well. If they do not, does anyone have a good leather/leatherette seat cover set they could reccomend? One that mimics the factory color would be preferred if possible.

Finally, it appears my truck has encountered a strange issue recently. I got a low washer fluid warning so I filled it as usual. However even after it being filled up the light and chime still comes on after a minute of being turned on. Any tips on what could be causing this? It's not a major pain, but if it's something I have to replace I'd rather just disable the chime through a fuse or something.

Thanks so much for the help and reccomendations!

Did some quick Googling and found these...

https://autotk.com/wheels/dodge/dakota/
https://www.originalwheels.com/dodge...ta2011rims.php
https://www.discountedwheelwarehouse..._Reference.cfm
https://www.wheel-size.com/size/dodge/dakota/2011/

They all list the same specs: 18" rim diameter, 8" rim width, 5x5.5" or 5x139.7mm bolt pattern. Only one lists the stock offset and has it at 25.4mm (1") for the OEM 18" wheel.

Those match up with the wheels that you found, except the offset, which is 35mm. It would probably work, just stick out a little further.

The wheels that you picked out look a lot like the OEM Laramie wheels, only with skinnier spokes. If you want the OEM wheels, here's some options (but clad in chrome...can also be had in painted silver with some searching):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Wheel-18x8-...0AAOSwzQFeTIMi
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Wheel-18x8-...MAAOSwbuJemJ04

Frankly, if I had the cash you're looking to put out for wheels and tires (based on the price of the Aspen wheels), I'd get these wheel upgrades. They were never offered as part of a package, but were the wheel upgrades available through Mopar.

More Googling brings up these leather seat cover options...

Start here: https://www.carid.com/2011-dodge-dak...er=1&sub-model[ourBodyTypeName][]=Crew+Cab

Katzkin makes a set...even sold by Mopar at one point. https://katzkin.com/product-options/

Others:
https://www.leatherseats.com/home/
https://www.coverking.com/genuine-leather.html
etc...

Nice thing about those is that you get to keep your current seats and the cushions. You just remove the factory fabric covers and replace them with the leather covers.

How old is this truck?

Thumbs up

Thanks for the in depth reply! It's really appreciated. It's an 06 crew cab. It's the one attached in this post. I've been loving it but want to modify it further. I was wondering about the seats/covers cause I was curious if anyone had a good experience with a relatively cheap cover that color matched at least somewhat. Thanks again for the help!

First off, wheels. A higher offset (+35) will bring the wheel in a little, not push it out. That will likely cause the tire to rub on the front sway bar and frame at full turn. The easiest option for wheels, is to find a set off of a Ram 1500, an year from 2001-2018 (IRC, the wheel specs changed as of the 2019 Ram model) will fit perfectly, and there have been plenty of 17" options over the years. Also 17" tires are loaded with choices. Ram wheel have the same offset as our Dakota, which is +25. I'm on my second set of Ram wheels, my current set I had powder coated Satin Black.

I have Wet Okole seat covers, bought many years ago. They are Neoprene, and an almost endless selection of colors as well as a few cover types. Mine are the 'Full Piping' covers, plus you can add the heated seat option, which I am extremely happy with. Military, PD, FD, & EMS get a 20% discount, which you must call in for, and provide proof. They are not cheap though.

My bad on the offset...got it backwards.

Nice looking truck. Looks like you've even managed to avoid the rusting fenders at the wheel wells.

Can't help with cheap. I've found you get 2 of 3, but not all three. Cheap, nice, fast...pre-made to fit our seats already covers the "fast". Now, you choose between cheap or nice.
