What is the largest size tires I can put on my stock 2005 Dakota? The stock size is 245/70/16.

265/70/16 will fit perfectly.

3G Dakota factory tire sizes
-245/70/16 (29.5 x 9.6 x 16)
-265/70/16 (30.6 x 10.4 x 16, No trimming with factory lift but adding wheel spacers requires slight trimming)
-265/65/17 (30.6 x 10.4 x 17)
-265/60/18

From this thread.

There's a long sticky for that exact question at the top of the forum. Same thread dakotaff linked to.

Default Thanks everyone

I ended up going with 265/70/16 AT tire's they fit perfect. I might have been able to go with the 75 cause there looks like it still has room but I'm happy with them.v Funny thing I'm 44 yrs old and this was the first set of brand new tires I've ever bought 😅.

Well, congrats, a nice new set of tires also add 10 horsepower to your truck.

A 265/75/16 tire seems to fit better when you have the 7" wide stock steel wheels on these Dakotas (sitting on stock suspension). With the 8" wide stock alloys, there is usually some rubbing.
