Default Oil Fill Cap Question

Changed the oil in the truck today, 4.7 liter. Took large tongue & groove pliers to get it off.
Check the oil regularly, haven't had to add any since last change. Now turn it a 1/4 turn and you can't turn it by hand.
Anybody else have this problem?

Thanks

My brother once snapped the plastic filler neck off his near-new Ram 4.7L while trying to take the cap off by hand.

Have to be careful with it.

I think the plastic on the filler warps after a thousand heat cycles. I have a similar issue with mine, been meaning to replace it.

Never had a problem. But, I've always changed the oil after driving it for about 20 minutes. Maybe that helps?

Could swap it out with a billet filler cap? I haven't looked, but I'm sure something is out there.
