My 05 Dakota will not start. When I turn the key to “On” all of the electronics turn on but when I go to start it nothing happens. No sound or anything. The red security dot just blinks and some other dash lights stay on. Any Ideas?

 

This has come up a few times, and a new battery seemed to have cured the issue most of the time.

if you have a second key use it, mine did this and found out my key worn the teeth down and it would no longer communicate with the computer, put second key in and issues went away
