Symptoms? Codes?

The RFE transmissions dont have "modulators", so I'm really not sure what you're asking. Clutches? Solenoids? Valve body?

Again, symptoms and codes and we can try to go from there.

Also, any chance your username is a reference to the airplane?

Thanks for the reply. RV-one goes with being a motor home owner.

my issue was I am getting occasional bursts (maybe every 2 to 3 days) of copious amounts of blue smoke from exhaust. Was told it may be the vacuum was sending tranny fluid bake to the intake and building in the exhaust system then BOOM. With this a quick misfire (2 to 3 seconds) then smooth and normal.

Tranny fluid has nothing to do with the intake. Blue smoke from the exhaust means you are burning oil in your cylinders. Could be the piston rings, could be a warped head letting oil in (though that usually results in burnt coolant instead), could be the valve stem seals are toast. The fact that it happens briefly and disappears just as quick as it arrived makes me think it's the valve stem seals.

Thanks again for the response. The long story is I purchased this truck very reasonable and knew it had engine troubles. This was the symptoms when I purchased it so I had a Jasper engine installed. The same exact symptoms occurred after install. After a compression check and a leak down check this engine will be replaced under warranty. It was just hard to imagine the same exact symptoms from a fresh motor install.

Seems odd, though the blue smoke is kinda the giveaway. But because the trans is all electronic, it should store codes, even if the code doesn't trigger a MIL light. Worth checking with a good scanner - could still be tranny issues, though the engine is definitely problematic.
