Security after battery change
05 Dakota 4.7 qc
after replacing thee trucks battery and positive connector thee security light, headlights and taillights flash. The trucks horn doesn't go off and it will start and drive. I do not have original keys nor are mine programed.
I've read about disconnecting the wire from ctm to door lock. I tried it to no avail but there's other post saying to ground the wire. I haven't tried that yet and some others saying to use resistors but there's varying recommendations on the correct ohm resistor to use.
I'm really close to just toggle switching everything and calling it a day.

The key has to be programed, simple as that. Short cuts only result in more problems. Find an honest Lock Smith that has a factory key and pay the $200 for them to program it. Went down the same road that you're going through and bit the bullet. Best 200 I've spent, works as it should.
