I just bought a 2005 Dakota Quadcab SLT 4x4 which has the "full-time AWD". Do the 4 tires need to be the exact same tire? I have 245/70/R16 on all 4 tires but the fronts are a different brand than the back tires, and the backs are 1/2" larger in diameter. I know other AWD vehicles require all 4 tires to be the exact same, with this differential is my tire set up ok? or am I asking for trouble?

 

It's definitely not a good practice.
