Default 4.7 With Big Oil Comsuption

2005 Dakota 4.7L burns one quart of oil a week, Smokes and smells of burnt oil some on startup and running and gets worse when hot. Could this be the pcv system, rings, valve seals? Engine runs smooth and sounds good otherwise, has 115k miles on it.

If its anything like my 05 its your valve cover gaskets, but I'm only using 2 quarts every 1500 miles, you might have a more sever issue.. I would def get into a shop ASAP.

definitelly check your valve covers. the 4.7 is known to leak.

is the smoking coming out of the exhaust? if so then it's something internal. if the smoke is underneath, then it's valve covers leaking.

Comes out the exhaust.
Person I was helping on the issue ended up selling the truck this week.
