Default 2010 Dakota flasher problems

I just noticed that my blinker is not working correctly. If I signal left 75% of the time it will actually signal right. 25% of the time it will signal left correctly and then a few seconds later the right blinker will start flashing. The right blinker always signals correctly, brake lights and hazards work correctly.

I did recently put my boat in the water and forgot to disconnect the trailer lights and am thinking that probably messed something up. I am wondering if it's maybe the flasher unit? ANy suggestions? Thanks!

I had a similar symptoms and I had to replace the wiper/blinker stalk on the column. It is a single assembly and isn't too hard to replace.

Yeah, I found another forum where a guy was having the exact same issue as mine and it fixed it. Going to do it this weekend and report back.

There usually isn't, there will be a flasher but that wouldn't cause this issue. I tend to agree that it's the multi-function stalk.

Yeah, I brain farted on this. Reading so many posts it got stuck in my head that I was looking for a flasher. Rereading ODXBeef post and I realize now he said "wiper/blinker stalk"

I take it this is what I am looking for?

Am I going to have to remove the steering wheel?

If that's the actual picture of the part you will, as it looks like the steering shaft goes through the middle of it. I've never done one and can't look at the service manual at the moment so not 100%
