Default Transmission Control Module

Hi guys.
New member here. My truck is a 2006 Dakota, (actually a Mitsubishi Raider. A Dakota with different sheet metal), and I'm having trouble with my transmission occasionally going into Limp Mode. It does it just after shifting into Drive. I get a Check Engine Light, and the trans doesn't shift out of second. BUT, if I shut the truck off, when I restart, it acts normal.
A little research has indicated that it is probably the TCM. If so, where can I find one? Every website I go to shows ECMs, but not TCMs. Well, except for used TCMs, but it's my understanding that they have to be flashed to the VIN of my truck.
Any info would be appreciated.

Okay guys, a bit of an update: On further research, I've found that our trucks don't HAVE a TCM, rather it's integral with the Totally Integrated Power Module, or TPIM. From what I see, that's basically the Power Distribution center, (fuse and relay box), with what appears to be a Front End Control Module on it. Can anybody confirm that? And if so, is the transmission controlled by the FECM?
Thanks

I don't know that well enough to answer. But, you might find some answers in the service manual. You can download the 2005 factory service manual from one of the stickies in this forum.
