Hey guys. This morning my 06 Dakota would not come out of park. Everything I searched online suggested the brake light switch was bad. the switch does more than the brake lights.
Had the battery unhooked. Replaced the switch and hooked the battery back up, started the truck and shifter came out of park and went through all the gears. When I put it back in park it did the same thing. While messing with it, I found that it comes out of park fine with the battery unhooked. Hook the battery up and it's locked in park. Now I am reading the shift cable needs replaced. Any help would be appreciated.
