2005 dodge dakota 4.7 v8. Fuse keeps blowing on clutch coil. Disconnected clutch and let sit for an hour. Fuse did not blow. Replaced clutch and coil. Cold air at idle. Drive 6 blocks and fuse blows. Talked to a dodge machanic who say's the compressor is bad. Bought new compressor, installed and charged. Cold air at idle, drove six blocks and fuse blows. Where is my short?
Turns out the fan clutch was not drawing enough air across condenser. Caused compressor to go out. Replaced compressor and clutch fan, everything works OK.
