So I just came across an '08 TRX4 priced at $1500 with a possible dropped valve. It has the 4.7L which I have read has had issues with the valve seats dropping out the head. I am going to look at it this evening, and I probably won't have many answers here by then which is fine, but I am just trying to get some info.

If the valve seat has dropped, does it take out anything else with it on the motor? I am thinking this is a noninterference engine which hopefully means other than head damage, everything else should be OK. Minus typical wear and tear on a 330,000 mile motor..

I would be doing all the work myself so labor isn't an issue.. If it is just the one head, I would probably pick up both just to be sure..

From the pics, the interior is dirty but no rust showing. Will know more once I see it this evening.
