Default Speedometer Calibration

I’m running some ram wheels and tires and my speedometer is off because of it. I thought there would be some obd programmer options out there but I’ve searched high and low and haven’t found any. I just ordered this speed sensor signal modifier type from jegs. Says it’s going to ship in two weeks, we will see.

Anybody know if a better option?
A faster option?

FYI my tires are 265/70r17. Some rub with no lift but no rub at all with a 2” lift

Fastest way would be to do a bit of math. Otherwise most programmers, like superchips and bullydog, will have an option when flashing the new tune to set tire size. The hard part would be finding one, but they are out there. Make sure you check if they are compatible with your truck first; some only work with the v8 and some only for certain years.

I know how much it’s off by, almost exactly 10%. But I would need one of those programmers no matter what right? Thanks for the tip too I’ll ask around who has a hand tuner in my area

Edit - my goal is to correct it so the odometer doesn’t get off.

They also lock to the vin, so you can't borrow one to make any changes. Search on the forum here and there should be a few posts about tuners and what model to search for. Etrailer.com has some available for a high price, but eBay/Craigslist/kijiji/Facebook should have some used ones. I picked up a bullydog and superchips for about $100 cdn each.

That should help keep the odometer accurate, and the added performance won't hurt.

AlfaOBD can help by programming tire/wheel size. Also, need a bidirectional OBD scanner like OBDLink MX+.

I cannot change the tire size of my 2023 Dodge Ram 5500 using AlfaOBD software. I can connect to read the tire size but cannot modify it. I am using OBDLink EX as the adapter. Does anyone know why?

You need a security bypass cable for anything built after 2018 (or thereabouts).
