I have 2006 dodge dakota laramie crew cab 4x4 i am told it has the short bed. And the reason i am posting is id like to know what all years, makes and models are interchangeable when it comes to the bed. Will only 3rd gen dodge fit? What years? Any other makes or models that will fit?

If you're in a pinch, I believe the Mitsubishi Raider beds were identical as well.

 

Thank you all that posted, two weeks ago i went to baltimore md to a you pull it junk yard, none of the dakotas had a bed on them, but on a pinch i looked for the Mitsubishi as mentioned here, found one the exact color and everything, well maybe just a hint shade different than the cab but close enough and it caused the truck to pass inspection, the other bed was gut rotted. But again much thanks to all.
