On my way home today I was slowing up to a stoplight, when I went to pull away the truck seemed to lack power. Then when I got up to speed I realized it wouldn't shift out of third gear. It will not shift up or down out of third gear. Using the manual shift on the column, it will shift into 2nd, but not 3rd. Anybody have an idea what this might be? Thanks

I got a p0750 code. It says transmission solenoid "a" malfunction. Checked the fluid and its at a good level. Started the truck this morning and its shifting like normal, however the code is still there.

 

I had the same issue on my 2011 just after purchase. Turned out to be a bad valve body/solenoid pack. This was with the 545RFE trans behind the V8.

bad solenoid for these 545rfe ... plus filters an issue as no one wants to change them ... two filters
