Default lower me down

Anybody lower a dakota? I have a R/T 3rd gen ... ikr ... none heard of such a thing. Its a 2006 "J" code high output engine. and as dodge does they sneak these things in. Many say it was just some badging, stripes and so forth. But that engine, cams and crank ... wow! 545rfe down to the 3.95 gear planted with helper springs ... gives me goosey. Right now my truck sits on standard Monroe struts and rear shocks which to my surprise lift the front about an inch or so. It no longer has the rake of the factory stance. I don't want a lifted truck nor a leveled truck ... I want some rake and lowered stance. so I'm asking is has anybody done this? Please exclude beltech ... they do not have, we haz dakotas not GMC or Chevy

Not a lot of options. You'll have to get creative. For the back get some drop shackles. For the front I have some ideas.

You can use struts for the 2009-2011 Dakota and cut about 3/4 loop out of your coils. The 2009-2011 struts are about 1/4" shorter overall and supposedly a little stiffer.

I would otherwise send a strut assembly to BC Racing. They make adjustable units for other makes with clevis lower mounts and should easily be able to provide a unit that will fit with full adjustability and slightly stiffer springs.

R/T’s are the envy of 3rd gen owners. As stated above, you will have to get creative. There is no, has never been, any aftermarket support for these trucks.

I might have to get the dimensions on the front struts for the Challenger. That lower clevis mount looks pretty close to ours and that lower threaded body could be shortened pretty easily. These things with a stiffer spring might work perfectly.
